An Afternoon at Kawaii Club Café: Japanese Sweets and Flavors in Buenos Aires

by Valeria Massimino

We visited Kawaii Club Café at Av. Medrano 1232, and it felt like stepping into a cartoon. The spacious and original space combines Japanese pastries with savory options, giving you a taste of traditional Japanese cuisine, from onigiris to sandwiches inspired by Japanese flavors. There are vegetarian options and even a shop where you can pick up kawaii souvenirs like mugs, stickers, or socks, ittle details you have to discover for yourself. The café also offers fun workshops, like making and decorating cookies, perfect for enjoying with friends or family.

We spoke with Tobías, son of Ana María Serei, who has been running the café since 2020. After the pandemic, the place has grown non-stop. He shared the passion and love they put into every detail, and it truly shows. The young and warm team welcomed us with smiles and good vibes, creating an energy you feel immediately.

Among the treats we tried, the Kawaii Tower stood out, a festival of visual sweetness and flavor. The tuna and veggie onigiris were fresh and flavorful, offering a satisfying savory option, and the anime-inspired cookies and cakes were perfect for photos and to sweeten the afternoon. We also enjoyed the Dai Sando – Chicken Teriyaki, a sandwich with artisanal white bread, teriyaki chicken, leafy greens, tomato, cabbage, and herb mayonnaise, ideal for a relaxed brunch. Refreshing lemonades and creamy chocolate drinks completed the experience with a true sugar shock.

The tower includes many Japanese delights, like strawberry-filled fish pastries, and outside of it, you’ll find even more options, including burgers and fries, all with a kawaii twist, catering to every taste. As Tobías explains, the essence of the café is to connect with Japanese street food, offering delicious, quick dishes that you can enjoy on the streets of Japan or in a themed café here in Buenos Aires.

The café can be reserved for birthdays and events, making Kawaii a perfect place to share special moments.

Open Wednesday to Sunday from 3 PM to 8 PM, Kawaii Club Café is much more than a café: it’s a corner where Japanese culture comes alive through all the senses, in an Instagram-worthy and fun environment.

BAO Kitchen: Taiwanese Soul in the Heart of Palermo

by Valeria Massimino

Amid the lively energy of Palermo, BAO Kitchen offers a moment of calm. Its new location on Bonpland 1679 blends Eastern serenity with the pulse of Buenos Aires. Natural light, soft wood, and truly spacious interiors create an atmosphere where every meal feels like a quiet ceremony — a reminder of the value of silence and of taking one’s time.

We were welcomed by the owners, a mother and daughter, creators of this family project that intertwines hospitality, philosophy, and a spiritual pursuit. Meilin explained that behind the restaurant also beats Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong), an ancient practice that cultivates body, mind, and spirit through the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance (Zhen, Shan, Ren). That sense of calm can be felt in every corner.

A glimpse into the menu — and into the hands that bring it to life. The bao, soft steamed buns that are a symbol of Taiwanese cuisine, steal the show. We tried two versions of the classic Gua Bao: one with braised pork belly in soy sauce, fresh lettuce, pickles, toasted peanuts, and cilantro; and another, fully vegan, with organic tofu glazed in gong bao sauce, sautéed greens, pickled red cabbage, and sprouts. Each bite balances tenderness, crunch, and spice with natural elegance — a subtle harmony that invites slow enjoyment.

The space itself is striking in its minimalism and openness — something rare in Buenos Aires. Every detail feels designed to breathe: well-spaced tables and a large open kitchen where the chefs work with near-ceremonial precision. Watching them is mesmerizing — their calm, discipline, and devotion flow together like choreography, embodying the philosophy that inspires the entire place.

The handmade wheat noodles, stir-fried with the traditional Taiwanese chimichurri (garlic, ginger, and scallion), seasonal vegetables, and a delicate peanut sauce, arrive topped with red cabbage, cucumber, and sweet-and-sour radish. It’s a comforting dish with unmistakable Taiwanese roots, where textures speak softly between creaminess and freshness. Each flavor invites discovery — distinct, balanced, and perfectly portioned, leaving you content.

Another highlight is the La-Mian soup, with organic chicken broth, homemade noodles, braised pork shoulder, egg, and seaweed — a liquid embrace for colder days.
The menu also includes vegetarian options, such as Gongbao Tofu, stir-fried with vegetables in a balanced spicy sauce, and a fragrant vegetable curry. To drink, the iced tea with mint and lemon, made from organic leaves from Misiones, pairs beautifully with the restaurant’s unhurried rhythm.

For dessert, the homemade cheesecake is light and balanced, served with a delicious seasonal jam. The Choco Coco Cake — a warm chocolate loaf with coconut ice cream — closes the experience with understated elegance. Everything is in harmony: nothing too sweet, nothing superfluous.

BAO Kitchen is more than a restaurant — it’s an invitation to slow down, to look at food (and life) with respect. It’s about finding peace, pausing the rush for a moment.
A corner of calm in the heart of Buenos Aires, where each dish carries a gesture from its land and from the people who craft it.

Amalia: A Gourmet Haven in the Heart of San Telmo

by Valeria Massimino

In the historic center of Buenos Aires, just steps from the iconic Plaza Dorrego and on the corner of Humberto Primo and Balcarce, you’ll find Amalia, a restaurant that blends history, charm, and a truly unique culinary experience.

The space, led by Juan —a true expert in the field— breathes passion into every detail. He shares how it all began, the challenges he faced, and how, thanks to his dedication and professionalism, success soon followed. Juan is present in every aspect of Amalia, from the kitchen to the experience of each diner, and it shows — and it’s appreciated.

Amalia is housed in an old townhouse that has preserved the essence of San Telmo intact. Upon entering, the dim lighting, the history-laden walls, and the warmth of the atmosphere invite you to let time stand still.

Just one block away from the vibrant weekend San Telmo fair —when the neighborhood turns into a festival— and very close to Puerto Madero, Amalia combines contrasts that enchant. It’s the ideal destination for those seeking a nostalgic stroll paired with memorable flavors. It’s not just chosen by tourists, but by locals who return time and again.

Walking through San Telmo always has a special allure. Its cobblestone streets, European flair, and leisurely rhythm make the experience feel like a journey. Finding Amalia in the midst of this scenery is discovering a true gastronomic oasis. We visited the restaurant on a Friday, and it was an experience that wrapped us in calm, with a warm, attentive team that cared for every detail.

The menu fuses the best of French and Italian cuisine with local products, offering fish, meats, and vegetarian options. It’s not a place designed only for tourists: locals are increasingly drawn to it for its quality, professionalism, and service that wins you over. The menu changes with the seasons, and they also offer delivery service.

Among the delights we tried —and highly recommend— are the fried ossobuco empanadas, large, juicy, and served with homemade criollita sauce; spinach fritters with homemade tartar sauce and honey mustard, irresistible from the first bite; the raviolones of cabutia squash and walnut with pumpkin dough and mushroom cream, a dish hard to find anywhere else in the city (delicious!); saffron risotto with ossobuco braised for five hours in herbs, red wine, and tomatoes —a flavor your palate will thank you for; and the star dish: Spanish octopus with firm yet tender tentacles, served with mashed potatoes, Spanish paprika, premium olive oil, and sea salt flakes. To finish, the classic tiramisù, pure temptation on a plate.

The wine cellar offers a wide and carefully curated selection, perfect for pairing each dish and extending the evening. Dining at Amalia feels like entering a bubble, a small time tunnel: eating without rush, gazing out the window at the illuminated cobblestones, and immersing yourself in the spirit of San Telmo —with its silversmiths, antique shops, art, and streets steeped in history.

La Casa del Balcón: A Boutique Hotel Where Coffee, Art, and the Sea Meet

Exploring Mar del Plata means diving into its classic postcards, but especially discovering those hidden gems that still surprise. La Casa del Balcón is one such place: a boutique hotel with a unique identity, a specialty coffee shop that invites you to linger, and a cultural space that pulses with workshops, themed dinners, and artistic events. All of this takes place in a century-old house that breathes history and hospitality.

Located in the La Perla neighborhood, on the city’s founding block, this 104-year-old home—declared a Cultural and Architectural Heritage site by the Municipality of General Pueyrredón—has become a meeting point between past and present, between rest and activity, between the sea and the soul.

More Than a Hotel, an Experience

Calling La Casa del Balcón just a boutique hotel doesn’t do it justice. Everything here is thoughtfully designed: the ambiance, the personalized service, the warmth of its managers. The heart of this project is Natalia and Salma, mother and daughter, who in just over a year have transformed this house not only into a destination for tourists but also a gathering place for locals seeking something new. La Casa del Balcón offers something different: intimacy, connection, culture, and flavor.

As Natalia says, “It’s a journey through time. There are no TVs because we want guests to disconnect from screens.” On the second and third floors, you’ll find the rooms, each with beautiful sea views. Here, rest is not just a promise—it’s a reality.

The Café, a True Meeting Point

At La Casa del Balcón, the specialty coffee deserves its own chapter. Located on the ground floor, this space is a haven for lovers of quality flavors and thoughtful offerings. From comforting homemade brunches to light lunches—like the house salad (see video)—each dish is carefully balanced and crafted with care. But the true star is the cheese scone, a classic that becomes a memorable moment to savor. The artisanal pastries also impress: sfogliatella, tiramisu, cookies, and other delights invite you to pause, enjoy without rush, and perhaps plan your next visit.

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, full of thoughtful details where every corner invites calm. Here, coffee transforms into an experience, a pause, and a connection. It’s not just a café—it’s the heartbeat that animates La Casa del Balcón.

A Place That Breathes Life

More than just lodging and coffee, La Casa del Balcón is a meeting point. It offers themed dinners, workshops for all ages, art exhibitions, and talks with local artists. A space in motion, breathing culture and sharing it with a genuine and close perspective.

In a city where many offerings can feel similar, here the difference lies in the people who make it possible: their warmth, their vision, and their commitment.

by Valeria Massimino

Visiting Mar del Plata is always a good idea. Whether you’re vacationing or just escaping for a few days, the city offers unforgettable moments and places full of surprises. One of those hidden gems is Casa Mandinga, a premium meat restaurant located in an impressive 1931 mansion in the residential Stella Maris neighborhood, at Carlos Pellegrini 2699.

There, we spoke with Joaquín Beneito, who leads the project alongside founding partner Fernando Daumas — both with extensive experience in the culinary world. They opened the restaurant two years ago with a clear concept: to offer a sophisticated, thoughtful, and unique experience without losing warmth and authenticity.

Casa Mandinga is not a typical parrilla — it’s a meat-focused gourmet restaurant where every detail is carefully curated. From the décor and lush garden to the service, the wine list, and the cooking method that surprises every guest. One of their secrets is the Josper oven, widely used in Europe but still rare in Argentina. It uses charcoal heat, searing the meat on both sides, enhancing its natural juices, and adding a smoky touch that elevates every dish. As Joaquín explains: “Since it works as both an oven and grill, with convection, it achieves a deeper, nobler flavor without compromising the product’s quality.”

High-quality ingredients are key: they use Angus breed steers, raised and fed over two years to the highest standards, usually reserved for export. “Argentine cattle ranching is part of our identity — and you can taste that on the plate,”Joaquín notes.

The menu also features vegetables cooked in the Josper, rice dishes, unforgettable provoletas, and a vegetarian risotto that even meat lovers will enjoy. The wine cellar is another highlight: young vintages and rare labels — some dating back to 1999 and 2000 — all impeccably preserved. It’s the perfect pairing for an effortlessly upscale experience.

The restaurant is already a success, attracting tourists, but above all, local patrons who appreciate its professionalism, inviting atmosphere, and a concept that works seamlessly.

One of the standout features is the garden: spacious, well-maintained, and full of character. In summer, it comes alive with pop-up events, open fires, live bands, and weekly special experiences. The space also adapts beautifully for private events — weddings, birthdays, corporate gatherings — without losing its unique identity. On the same property, you’ll also find other culinary concepts like Rosso and Coco Café, rounding out the full experience.

The building maintains its original charm — as a protected historical landmark, major alterations are not permitted — and that’s something guests truly appreciate. Just across from Torre de Manantiales and only a few blocks from the sea, Casa Mandinga offers a refined and flavorful retreat that Mar del Plata was missing.

Open Wednesday to Sunday during winter, and daily in summer.
Carlos Pellegrini 2699, Mar del Plata
Instagram: @casa.mandinga

COCO CAFÉ: Mar del Plata’s New Must-Visit Spot

by Valeria Massimino

Mar del Plata is a city full of discoveries, but finding a place that combines good vibes, homemade food, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay isn’t always easy. COCO CAFÉ nails it effortlessly. Located on a bright and cozy corner in the heart of Güemes (Olavarría and Alberti), it has quickly become the go-to spot for those who appreciate thoughtful design and specialty coffee.

COCO is much more than just a café: it’s a modern two-story refuge, perfect for working on your laptop, enjoying a peaceful brunch, or breaking up the afternoon with a carefully crafted snack. It radiates genuine warmth, polished aesthetics, and a unique personality that hits you the moment you walk in.

Behind this concept are Vicky and Angy, cousins and business partners who turned a family idea into a project with a clear vision: to create something different and close to the heart. Today, they run three locations and continue to grow, always staying true to homemade, honest cooking made with love.

What makes it stand out?

The kitchen has its own signature: artisanal breads and cakes, homemade recipes, and the expert touch of Oscar, a pastry chef with over 45 years of experience. Nothing industrial here — every bite shows it. The lunch menu changes daily with four rotating options, always including veggie-friendly, gluten-free, and healthy choices that genuinely impress (spoiler: our veggie tester left happy).

COCO also shines when it comes to breakfasts and snacks: the amazing green toast with avocado, pistachio alfajores, fresh juices, lemonades, specialty coffee, and glorious medialunas that already have a fan club. All served in a relaxed environment with authentic vibes and a subtle hipster touch — but without the pretension.

We tried a bit of everything: fresh salads, daily specials, chicken and steak options. But if you go, don’t miss the brunch classics — the french toast was our undisputed favorite.

Plus, the space is versatile: whether you want to celebrate a birthday, meet up with friends, or simply turn an ordinary afternoon into something special.

COCO CAFÉ arrived to break the monotony and offer a truly different experience in Mar del Plata: authentic, familiar, and full of real flavor.

In the vibrant neighborhood of Palermo, right across from Plaza Armenia (Malabia 1893), a new culinary gem opened just a few months ago—and it’s already become a well-kept secret among food lovers. Kusikairesto is a Peruvian restaurant that has quickly won over hearts and palates.

The name “Kusikai” comes from Quechua—one of the most widely spoken indigenous languages in Peru—and means “I’m happy” or “to feel joy.” That feeling of joy is present the moment you walk through the door: the atmosphere is warm, minimalist, and inviting, designed to be enjoyed with all your senses.

Behind the project are Zulma and Rosario, two women with a background in the world of antiques, where they also thrived with passion, style, and commitment. Today, they bring that same sensitivity into the culinary world, offering an authentic and thoughtful experience. In the kitchen, Chef José Luis leads with energy and precision, backed by a dedicated team who pour care into every detail and every dish.

The Menu: Tradition, Flavor, and Detail

Kusikairesto’s menu combines traditional Peruvian dishes with contemporary touches, all presented with great visual care. Every bite is designed to tell a story.

Among the starters, the mini potato causas stand out—a Peruvian classic reimagined with freshness and subtlety, the perfect way to awaken your appetite. But Kusikai goes beyond just “going out to eat”: it’s a complete experience, offering flavors that take you on a journey. And its location in buzzing Palermo, surrounded by life, art, and design, makes it all the more special.

We also tried the acevichado makis—stuffed with catch of the day, avocado, and cheese, then topped with ceviche. A fresh, bold combination of flavors.
Vegetarian options are also available, like the veggie makis and the vegetarian chaufa rice—tasty and thoughtfully prepared, without sacrificing depth.

The fish and prawn ceviche, infused with chili peppers, cilantro, onion, and lime juice, strikes that perfect balance between citrus and spice—so essential in Peruvian cuisine.
And for those who love bold flavors, the parihuela soup is a standout: hearty, flavorful, and ideal for cooler days.

Our Favorites

One of our top dishes was the Huancaína Prawn Noodles—sautéed noodles in a creamy, smooth huancaína sauce, topped with perfectly seared prawns.
We also enjoyed the Cilantro Risotto with Prawns, and the Seafood Jalea, a crispy mix of octopus, squid, prawns, and fried fish, served with native potatoes and a bold tartar sauce.

The Salmon Makis also impressed: sushi rolls filled with catch of the day, avocado, and cheese, topped with fresh salmon and a delicate soy reduction.

Peruvian Desserts with Soul

If you’re one of those people who “needs something sweet” to finish a meal, this is your happy place.
Peruvian desserts here are the perfect closing act.

The Tres Leches Cake is a can’t-miss classic: homemade sponge cake soaked in three-milk cream, filled and topped with whipped chantilly. Fluffy, sweet, and delicate—just perfect.
Another must: the Suspiro a la Limeña—a silky cream made with two types of milk, subtly spiced, and crowned with flambéed meringue. Unforgettable.

Signature Cocktails

The drinks pair beautifully with the food. Our recommendations:

Pisco Sour – a timeless classic: pisco, lemon juice, sugar syrup, and egg white. Refreshing and perfectly balanced.

Machu Picchu – more colorful and exotic: pisco, mint liqueur, orange juice, and ice. A surprising combination that wakes up your palate.

View the full menu here:

A Place with Soul

Kusikairesto is more than a restaurant: it’s an invitation to celebrate the flavors of Peru with care and joy. Located in one of Palermo’s most lively corners, its proposal feels both exclusive and welcoming—like a short but intense journey through the best of Peruvian cuisine.

Somos fiel a nuestra filosofía”, explica Matías.

English version

Craft Vegan Bakery: the art of baking with conscience

by Valeria Massimino

In several corners of Buenos Aires, Craft Vegan Bakery is redefining the pleasure of what we expect when we sit down to enjoy something well made. With a proposal that combines innovation, tradition, and commitment, this venture has become a benchmark for those seeking authentic flavors and conscious choices. Increasingly present in the city, Craftrepresents an alternative that’s here to stay.

We visited one of their newest locations, at the corner of Núñez and Freire in Saavedra: a bright space with a simple, welcoming aesthetic that invites you to stay, take your time, and rediscover the true taste of artisanal baking.

The words viennoiserie and pâtisserie are no coincidence on their menu: they’re the starting point of a project that honors the roots of classic baking, but does so from a production plant where everything is different. There, they produce organic sourdough creations and a 100% vegan line of pastries — a distinctive offering that is gaining strength in a city where conscious dining is no longer just a trend: it’s a necessity.

A project born in challenging times

Craft Vegan Bakery was born during the pandemic. While the world slowed down, Matías Álvarez —co-founder— set out to create a real project, with soul, capable of offering honest and flavorful products. “We racked our brains to make the things vegans couldn’t find, and people welcomed us warmly. We stay true to our philosophy,” explains Matías. That spirit is felt in every detail: from the choice of ingredients to the close, personalized attention they provide to franchisees.

Today, Craft’s production plant supplies over 15 locations across Buenos Aires City and Greater Buenos Aires —Belgrano, Palermo, Recoleta, Nordelta, Núñez, Microcentro, Villa Crespo, among others— and maintains the standard that made the brand a recognized name in the local scene. Love and professionalism define a philosophy lived out in every detail: no animal cruelty, gluten-free options, and products made with care. And they continue to grow: step by step, they’re expanding a proposal that combines flavor, quality, and commitment.

Bread as the star (and so much more)

At Craft Vegan Bakery, bread takes center stage: fluffy, flavorful, and with that unmistakable artisanal touch. The star is their sourdough — a return to the roots, free of industrial yeast and made with natural fermentation. Alongside it are other options, like their potato bread: light, delicate, and full of flavor. But the offering goes far beyond that. On the savory side, the variety is tempting: sourdough pre-pizzas with almond vegan cheese, flavored ciabattas, empanadas, burritos with textured soy protein, sandwiches —like the classic caprese— fresh salads, handmade pastas, and tarts perfect for lunch.

On the sweet side: croissants — classic and almond-filled —, cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolat, medialunas (traditional butter-free or whole grain), oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies, vegan brownies, cakes in a variety of flavors with character and personality, vegan dulce de leche alfajores, truffles, and orange and ginger energy bars — among many other options sure to surprise.

To accompany: specialty coffee from Brazil and Colombia, with notes of caramel and red fruits; organic loose-leaf teas from Vedanna; and cold-pressed juices like the classic green detox. And the final touch: creamy ice creams, from traditional flavors to passion fruit.

A lifestyle

What Craft offers is a way of understanding gastronomy and rethinking what we choose every day. Because vegan can be delicious. Because flavor and commitment go hand in hand. Because change begins with what we put on our plate. This isn’t about diets: it’s about conscious eating.

Today, Buenos Aires boasts options that once seemed reserved for other major cities. And Craft Vegan Bakery is proof of that: a project that invites us to rediscover what’s artisanal, healthy, and truly flavorful.

Hoy tienen siete sucursales (Caballito, Belgrano, Recoleta, Olivos, Palermo, Villa Urquiza y Saavedra). Una historia digna de documental.

“Cocinar es una expresión emocional”, dice Jorge. Y no exagera.

In Palermo—more precisely, at Gorriti 6066—there’s a corner where sugar doesn’t overwhelm: it moves you. It’s called Brownie Planet, and yes, it lives up to the name.

We were welcomed by its owners, Laura and Jorge, a couple whose energy is contagious. Originally from Colombia and now living in Argentina, they bring a warmth that enters the room before they do.

Jorge is a medical doctor (yes, a doctor), and although his path seemed set, something kept tugging at him. He chose to follow the deepest beat of his heart.
Alongside Laura, he began baking dreams in a small apartment. She came from the world of advertising and marketing, but together they chose to step outside the routine and bet on a shared project—one that today, tastes like success.

Brownie Planet was born eight years ago, and they haven’t stopped since. Jorge remembers selling cookies—even at the hospital where he worked. Today, they’ve grown into seven locations (Caballito, Belgrano, Recoleta, Olivos, Palermo, Villa Urquiza, and Saavedra). It’s the kind of story that deserves a documentary.

“Cooking is an emotional expression,” Jorge says. And he’s not exaggerating. Here, everything is baked with inner fire, with passion, with purpose.

Their undisputed star? The New York-style cookies: GIANT, indulgent, with a gooey center that melts in your mouth and makes everything make sense.

Some flavors you’ll definitely want to try again:
Chunk – for walnut lovers, with sea salt flakes and chocolate. Edible art.
Red Velvet – classic, vibrant, always a comforting choice.
Fudgy Nutella – an outrageous bomb filled with Nutella and Belgian semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Chocopistella Deluxe – dark cocoa, 100% pure roasted pistachios, and white chocolate. A gourmet revelation that confirms pistachio is here to stay.

They also offer options as creative as they are irresistible: Spoonables (yes, meant to eat straight from the spoon), generous portions that are a direct injection of sweetness. There are frozen brownie desserts, limited-edition cookies that change monthly (and seriously spark anticipation), and marshmallow-loaded chocolate creations that reconnect you with your childhood.

To go with all that? Coffee, tea, iced caramel lattes, strawberry cream, tropical berry… flavors that travel without a passport and awaken all the senses. And yes, we listed everything that caught our attention. Which, honestly, was everything.

They also host events and birthdays, and the best part: you’ll never hear a “we can’t.” Because when there’s passion, there’s always a way.

Brownie Planet is the kind of place where love-built projects aren’t just noticed—they’re felt. Perfect for breakfast, an afternoon treat, or ending your day with something that wraps you in sweetness.

The best part? They deliver—even if you order just one cookie. Because when dessert is this good, you don’t need an excuse.

La Conga Restaurant: Flavors of Peru in the Heart of Once

In the bustling neighborhood of Balvanera, just steps away from the Miserere station (Once), there’s a corner where Peru beats strong: La Conga. One of the largest Peruvian restaurants in the city, where each dish is a direct journey to the most authentic and comforting flavors of Peruvian cuisine.

La Conga is not just a restaurant: it’s a celebration. A fiesta of aromas, flavors, colors, and emotions. A place where tables are filled with abundant dishes, perfect for sharing. Where families reconnect over ceviche, rotisserie chicken, and huge plates of chaufa. Here, eating is not just about satisfying hunger; it’s about creating memories.

A Story of Effort and Passion

Behind this dream turned gastronomic landmark is Rosa Valverde, who, together with her family, arrived in Buenos Aires more than twenty years ago, filled with hope and dreams, knowing it wouldn’t be easy. But with passion, love, and hard work, they managed to establish this space that now touches hearts — and was recently declared of cultural interest by the Buenos Aires Legislature.

La Conga opens its doors Monday through Monday (closed only on Wednesdays), always full, always alive. They don’t take reservations, but with three large rooms — with a capacity of over 100 people — there’s always space for those who come eager to enjoy. Many local workers also take their break here, seeking the comfort of a hot, tasty lunch in the middle of their day.

At night, the energy grows: sometimes there’s a line waiting to get in. La Conga is a trademark: if you go, you’ll return — no doubt about it.

A Festival of Flavors

The menu is an authentic festival for the palate: ceviche (the house specialty and one of the most ordered dishes), the famous “Mostrito” (broasted chicken with chaufa rice and crispy fries), the classic rotisserie chicken — a delicacy seasoned with an irresistible secret — fresh fish, shrimp in sauce, calamari, fried squid, and the unmissable «bife a lo pobre» (juicy, flavorful, topped with fried egg and plantains). There are also pastas, milanesa, and vegetarian options, celebrating all tastes and always embracing diversity in every dish.

The desserts, traditional and comforting, are irresistible: the mouthwatering Suspiro Limeño and the delicious Torta Tres Leches are just a few of the sweets that invite you to finish the meal more than satisfied, accompanied by typical Peruvian drinks.

Customers from all over the world come to La Conga looking for that unique experience, full of flavor and warmth.

A Place That Beats

A warm team of waiters — attentive, quick, and detail-oriented — ensures that each visit is special. From the large LED screen that lights up the block, welcoming guests and announcing events and musical shows, to the always festive atmosphere, everything at La Conga invites you to stay and enjoy.

During our visit, we witnessed a birthday celebration: applause, music, smiles. Because La Conga is just that: a place where you don’t just come to eat, but to share moments.

«Mom and dad, to this day, work. They wake up early, go to the market, are in every detail,» Rosa tells us, visibly emotional. They never imagined that life would lead them to run a restaurant. Migrating is not easy, and achieving what they have today is no small feat. But they did it. With effort, passion, and tireless dedication, they created a warm space that celebrates flavor, culture, and hard work. A piece of Peru in Buenos Aires. A refuge of memories, family, and dreams that continues to grow and inspire.
