Este jueves Venom llega al Teatro Flores para desatar toda su furia y demostrar de que están hechas las leyendas. Hablamos con Cronos líder indiscutido de una banda que influenció a miles músicos en todo el mundo, entre ellos …Metallica.
Entrevista: Fer Casals
Venom es una de las bandas de metal más influyentes de la historia, cuando comenzaron, ¿cuales era sus influencias?
Las bandas de rock de los sesentas y setentas. Crecí en Londres escuchando a The Who, los Stones e inclusive Elvis, etc. Gran música.
Cómo va el tour hasta ahora, vienen de tocar en Suecia, Alemania, Italia, Portugal, Francia…
Fantástico como siempre, siempre es grandioso tocar para las legiones en cualquier país, pero ahora estamos muy excitados de volver a Sudamérica, ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que tocamos ahí, ya que nos resulto muy difícil encontrar promotores en los cuales poder confiar.
¿Podés contarme acerca del proceso de grabación de la nueva versión de Calm before the Storm (Black Mass, 2017)?
No tengo nada que ver con ningún nuevo lanzamiento de ese álbum, debe ser un pirata. No lo compren.
¿Te gustan las bandas nuevas que están haciendo metal en la actualidad?
No demasiadas, no son heavies, no las llamaría metal, muchas de ellas perdieron el significado de lo que es heavy y la exploración de lo intenso, ahora solo quieren ser comerciales y hacer dinero.
Mirando hacia atrás, ¿algún te arrepentís de algo sobre la carrera de Venom?
Ningún arrepentimiento, sólo aprendiendo a mejorar mi arte como siempre.
Algunos argentinos nunca vieron a Venom en vivo ¿como será el show?
El infierno en la tierra.

Venom is one of the most influential metal bands ever. When the band started out, ¿what were your influences?
The rock bands from the 1960’s and 70’s. I grew up in London listening to the Who, the Stones and even Elvis etc, great music.
How is the tour going so far? you played Sweden, Germany, Italy, Portugal, France…
Amazing as always, it’s always great to play for the Legions in any country, but we are now excited to come back to South America, as its been a long time since we played there as its difficult to find trustworthy promoters.
Can you tell me about the process of working on new version of Calm before the storm (Black Mass, 2017)?
I have nothing to do with any new releases of this album, it must be a bootleg, don’t buy it.
Do you like the bands who are creating metal these days?
Not many of them, they are not heavy, I wouldn’t call them metal, too many of them have lost the meaning of heavy and exploring intensity, now they just want to be commercial and make money.
Looking back, ¿there is some regret in Venom’s career?
No regrets, just learing how to improve my art as always.
Some Argentines never saw Venom live, ¿what can they expect from the show?
Hell on earth.
